The Saha Team holds information sessions at college campuses around the world.
The application for the Global Leadership Program is online! We accept Field Representa-tives on a rolling basis. Apply early! If accepted, you will have more time to fundraise and pre-pare for your trip.
We then select exceptional applicants for a phone interview. These interviews usually take place within two weeks of submitting your application. If you seem like a good fit for the Global Leadership Program, Saha will offer you a position as a Field Rep.
Your first responsibility as a Field Rep is to fundraise! Saha will provide you with a wel-come packet filled with trip prep information and fundraising ideas. You will also will have “Fund-raising & Trip Prep” meeting with the Saha team who will help you get started.
After fundraising, it’s time for the adventure: working in Ghana! You will fly into Accra, the capital of Ghana and the Saha Team will be at the airport to welcome you!
Next, it’s time to head up to the Northern Region. You will travel with everyone by bus.
Once you reach the North, you will participate in a four-day, in depth orientation led by the Saha Global team. We will then pair you with team of three other Field Reps.
During orientation, you will visit current Saha sites where you will meet our woman entre-preneurs and get a sense for how our water and solar businesses operate.
After 4 days of orientation, your team will be assigned to your partner community. Your first responsibility as a team will be to pitch the Saha business model to the community chief and elders.
Your team will then work with the community to build either the water treatment or solar charging centers.
You will then train women from the village both how to operate the system and manage the business.
The next step in the process is distribution. Your team will distribute either safe storage containers (for the water program) or lanterns (for the solar program) to every family in the community. You will visit every household in the village, so it’s a great time to educate each family about the new Saha Business and answer any questions that they may have.
After distribution, it’s time for opening day! This is one of the best days of the entire Global Leadership Program! The women entrepreneurs open their business and start selling clean water or electricity. It’s always so amazing to see these ladies take charge and to see all of your work as a Field Rep come to fruition.
During, the last week of the program you will monitor the Saha business and continue education activities in your community. This involves monitoring sales, performing household visits and giving presentations to the community’s school.
Stay in touch! After the Global Leadership Program ends, Saha provides a variety of ways you to stay involved with our team. We are always sharing new opportunities and providing ways for you to stay connected to your community, translator, and other Field Reps.
